RCU Raises Funds for Akron Inner City Soccer Club

Rubber City Underground’s mission is to support the growth of soccer in greater Akron, and promote awareness of the opportunities Akron City FC provides to soccer players and fans. To that end, RCU supports and partners with community organizations that aim to foster a love of the game. During the 2024 season, RCU partnered with the Akron Inner City Soccer Club.

The AICSC has been serving the Akron community since 1999, running a variety of tournaments, clinics, and camps throughout the year as well as organizing youth into local and traveling teams. Founded by Dele Olabisi, the organization strives to make quality soccer accessible to disadvantaged youth, minorities, immigrants, and families who cannot afford expensive clubs.

Through a series of fundraisers and merchandise sales during the 2024 ACFC season, RCU raised a total of $200 that was donated to the AICSC organization. RCU knows that the donation will be put to good use to strengthen the growth of soccer in the greater Akron area.
